The San Paolo Hospital is a hospital in Milan, from January 1, 2016 administratively included, together with the San Carlo Borromeo Hospital, in the ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo. It was built in the Barona district between 1964 and 1978, designed by architect Carlo Casati, with the aim of having 650 beds, expandable up to 1,200 in case of need. Since 1987 it has also been home to a university campus. The hospital is divided into several blocks, the main structure takes the form of a letter H and is divided into three blocks: Block A: from the main entrance is located on the left and houses wards. Block B: from the main entrance is located on the right and houses other inpatient departments. Block C is located in the central block and houses the administrative offices and the university.
