Europa, known as E.U.R., is the 32nd district of Rome, denoted by Q. XXXII. and is located in the southern area of the city, inside the Grande Raccordo Anulare, between the river Tiber to the west and the via Laurentina to the east. The construction of the district was only completed in the late 1950s, in preparation for the Games of the 17th Olympiad in Rome in 1960. There are also many important museums and the Central State Archive. It has been the subject of many film and television sets and can be reached from the EUR Magliana, EUR Fermi, EUR Palasport and Laurentina stations of Metro B.
