he Braganza Palace is very centrally located in the Saldanha neighbourhood, right next to the famous "Avenida da República" and the Saldanha Square, close to shopping centers, supermarkets, cinemas, cafés, banks, and just 50 meters away from the “Saldanha” Metro (subway) station.

Residential and business districts were built around long, broad avenues, today commonly known as "Avenidas Novas" ("New Avenues"). Nowadays, it has become a neighbourhood with all the needed services, where you will find a mix of the old and grey Lisbon with the trendy and modern Lisbon. Cinemas are just 5 minutes way. A mere 10 minute walk and you will reach one of the city's best museums - Gulbenkian - and its beautiful gardens, designed by Landscape Architect Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles, who was distinguished with the Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award (the Nobel Prize of Landscape Architecture).

Velocité Café (120A, Av. Duque D'Ávila). It is a bookstore, a bike rental place, a cinema hall, a meeting point, and it has a great terrace. Ask them for a map of Lisbon's cycle routes.
