Cinecittà is a film studio complex in Rome and the largest in Europe. It is an impressive complex of buildings and facilities spread over an area of 400,000 m² about 9 km from the centre of Rome and houses 19 studios of varying sizes. Cinecittà is a very important European and universal film production centre and has hosted and produced many Italian and international works. It is complemented by the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the most important film academy in Italy.
