Europa, known as E.U.R., is the 32nd district of Rome, denoted by Q. XXXII. and is located in the southern area of the city, inside the Grande Raccordo Anulare, between the river Tiber to the west and the via Laurentina to the east. The construction of the district was only completed in the late 1950s, in preparation for the Games of the 17th Olympiad in Rome in 1960. In recent years, the district has taken on a very important residential and commercial function, hosting headquarters or peripheral offices of public bodies and companies, ministries of health, environment, economic development, infrastructure and transport, ICE, SIAE, INAIL, INPS. There are some companies such as Confindustria, Poste Italiane, Eni, companies in the energy field: Q8, TotalErg, Engie, companies in the IT and technology field: Oracle, Engineering, Microsoft, Huawei, Accenture as well as important banks such as UniCredit, BNL, Fideuram and Intesa Sanpaolo. There are also many important museums and the Central State Archive. It has been the subject of many film and television sets and can be reached from the EUR Magliana, EUR Fermi, EUR Palasport and Laurentina stations of Metro B.
