Trieste is the seventeenth district of Rome, indicated by Q. XVII. The eastern area is known as Quartiere Africano, due to the presence of onomastics related to the colonies of the Kingdom of Italy. This area is home to the famous Quartiere Coppedè, an eclectic and whimsical neighbourhood designed by architect Gino Coppedè. It has also been the site of numerous film sets and the Piper club, a historic club in Rome. There are also numerous historic buildings and archaeological sites, parks and historic villas. It can be reached from the Sant'Agnese/Annibaliano and Libia stations of the metro MB1 and Roma Nomentana of the FL1.
