The plot on which BLOX is located, is the story of a capital in constant development. The plot arose through gradual refills in the harbor in the 1660s. The original building from 1772 was the royal brewery “Kongens Bryghus”, which with industrial development eventually developed into a real industrial complex in the 1870s. The city developed around the site, and Vester Voldgade was built in 1873 as one of the city’s most important traffic arteries. Nearby, the Royal Library was constructed in 1903.
