Lage

Namensgeberin für den Gebaeudekomplex ist Rahel Varnhagen (1771–1833)  – die Grande Dame des Berliner Salons. Nur wenige Häuser entfernt vom heuten ‚Palais‘ verkehrten bei ihr etwa Heinrich Heine, Friedrich Schlegel, Adelbert von Chamisso, Wilhelm und Alexander Humboldt sowie Barone, Fürsten und Prinzen. Nur eine Straβe weiter die Komische Oper, südlich entlang der Friedrichstraße läuft man auf den Checkpoint Charlie zu, Richtung Norden gehts an der S-Bahn Friedrichstraße (U6, Tram 12/M1) vorbei über die Spree zum Friedrichstadt Palast.
