Die Unterkunft befindet sich auf der „Roten Insel“ in Schöneberg, einem Ort, bedeutender deutscher Geschichte – Marlene Dietrich, Hildegard Knef sind hier geboren und haben hier gelebt, der Umsturzversuch von 1944 wurde hier geplant. Der Kiez ist freundlich und ruhig mit vielen privaten Cafés, auch Kinos, Bars und Restaurants sind nur einen kurzen Fußweg entfernt. Die entschleunigte, doch belebte Akazienstraße lohnt einen Abstecher, folgt man dieser für eine Weile, erreicht man den Winterfeldtplatz. Hier gibt es am Mittwoch und Samstag einen tollen Markt! Der Bergmannkiez kann u.a. durch einen 30 min Spaziergang erreicht werden. Für sportlich aktive befindet sich nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß eine Boulderhalle (zur Zeit aufgrund von Corona nicht in Betrieb) sowie Beachvolleyballfelder, Basketballkörbe, ein Boule-Platz. Auch gibt es einige Parks und wundervolle Laufstrecken. Die Wohnung liegt äußerst zentral und ist gut angebunden. So verkehrt die Ringbahn von Südkreuz (u.a. direkt zum Flughafen Schönefeld, aber auch ins hippe Neukölln). Die S1 von der Julius-Leber-Brücke führt direkt zum Potsdamer Platz, Brandenburger Tor oder in der anderen Richtung zur FU-Berlin (Umstieg Lichterfeld-West oder zu Fuß weiter) oder sowie zu den West-Berliner Seen in Zehlendorf, Nicolai-See, Wannensee. Darüber hinaus fahren die Busse 104 und 106 vor der Tür ab. Weitere Busse wie der M48 oder M46 erreicht man binnen wenigen 8 min zu Fuß, die U-Bahnlinie U7 startet ab Kleistpark, ein Spaziergang von ca. 12 min.
